The Motor Cover (also known as the hood) is the most striking body component, and is one of the parts that car buyers often look at. The main requirements for the engine cover are heat insulation and sound insulation, light weight and strong rigidity. It can be manufactured by CNC engraving, Sand Casting, transparent acrylic(PMMA/PC) 3D Printing.
The engine cover is generally composed in structure, the middle clip is made of thermal insulation material, the inner plate plays a role in enhancing rigidity, and its geometry is selected by the manufacturer, basically the skeleton form.
When the engine cover is opened, it is generally turned backward, and a small part is turned forward.
The engine cover turned backwards should be opened at a predetermined Angle, should not be in contact with the front windshield, and should have a minimum spacing of about 10 mm. In order to prevent self-opening due to vibration during driving, the front end of the engine cover should have a safety lock hook locking device, the locking device switch is set under the dashboard of the car, and the engine cover should be locked at the same time when the car door is locked.
